The Eye of Horus, The Eye of Shiva
....was the inside of a volcano.

An eye for an eye: Photographer Mikhail Mikhailov was startled to see what looked like a human eye staring up at him as he flew over the Pugachevskiy mud volcano in East Russia

Both the Eye of Horus and the Eye of Shiva were probably named after ancient people viewed the insides of volcanoes. Both mud volcanoes and dormant or extinct water-filled volcanoes can resemble eyes.
